New Music: Brenn!, Pokey LaFarge, Willow Avalon, and More

Published on Jun 12th, 2026

Here’s a roundup of the latest music that just dropped (and what’s coming next)!

Infinity Song: INFINITY SONG

The album Infinity Song comes on the heels of two new singles. “One Foot Out” sees the band performing their signature blend of nearly-choral harmonies combined with sundrenched guitar strumming and a danceable beat. “Hurricane” gets into funkier territory, with a disco-influenced bassline, guitar, and string harmonies. The latter track also comes with a stylish music video, shot mostly in black and white with a few pops of color.

Infinity Song consists of siblings Abraham Boyd, Angel Boyd, Israel Boyd, and Momo Boyd, who have been performing together for nearly their whole lives. “We’ve been singing since we were little kids, and music is truly our family’s way of life. It’s been an outlet for development, for processing life – we come together around music. We made it official in 2014 or something, I don’t know the exact date. But really, it was a formality more than anything,” Abraham told Euphoria magazine in 2024. After the group made it official, they released their debut album, Infinity’s Song, in 2015. That was followed by 2020’s Mad Love and 2024’s Metamorphosis Complete. The return to an album bearing the group’s name feels momentous, like a full circle moment more than a decade in progress.

Spafford: Sweet, High Beams, Back In L.A.

Renowned improvisational rock band Spafford has announced the release of their highly anticipated new studio album, “Cat Shop,” arriving June 19, 2026. The album marks a bold new chapter for the band, blending their signature exploratory sound with a refined studio-driven approach that highlights songwriting, texture, and sonic depth.

The first glimpse into Cat Shop comes with the release of the lead single “Sweet” on this Friday, May 8. “Sweet” was written by singer/songwriter Gary Ukura and showcases the band’s evolving musical direction, balancing groove, melody, and emotional resonance.

“It really is a beautiful song. Gary is an amazing musician and singer – it is an honor to record this song for him,” said guitarist/lead singer, Brian Moss.

Mixed and mastered by longtime collaborator Isaac Civitello, Cat Shop delivers a polished yet dynamic listening experience, capturing the essence of Spafford’s improvisational roots while embracing a more focused studio identity. The album’s visual aesthetic is brought to life through original art, layout, and design by Kelley Wills, complementing the record’s creative vision. Check out the new single below.

Jam powerhouse Spafford recently debuted a brand-new original song titled “High Beams.” The fresh track features keyboardist Cory Schechtman stepping up as lead vocalist, delivering a smooth and soulful performance that adds a new layer to the band’s dynamic sound. “High Beams” blends funky grooves with jazzy piano flourishes, creating a vibe that’s both laid-back and electrifying—a natural fit for Spafford’s ever-evolving live catalog.

With “High Beams,” Spafford continues to push their boundaries and embrace new textures while staying rooted in the improvisational spirit their fans know and love.

“Back In L.A.” arrives with a punk-rock punch that immediately grabs your attention. Already familiar to fans through live performances, the studio version captures the song’s urgency while preserving the raw energy that made it a standout in rotation.

More than anything, Spafford’s impending album Cat Shop feels like a snapshot of a band fully embracing a new chapter. The creativity is flowing, the chemistry is undeniable, and the songs feel equally at home in the studio as they do on stage. For longtime fans, the album offers a fresh perspective on familiar favorites, while newcomers may find it one of the most inviting entry points into Spafford’s catalog yet.

Either way, one thing is clear: this band is having fun, taking chances, and continuing to expand what Spafford can be. With summer tour just getting underway, Cat Shop feels less like the end of a creative process and more like the beginning.

Pepper + The Movement: End of the World

For more than two decades, Pepper has built a career on turning life’s chaos into an irresistible soundtrack. Whether delivering beachside anthems, hard-earned reflections, or the kind of singalong hooks that have made them one of the most enduring bands in the Cali reggae scene, the Hawaiian-born trio has always understood how to find light in uncertain times. On their new single “End of the World,” the band’s first original release in nearly three years, Pepper leans directly into that uncertainty and emerges with one of the strongest songs of their recent catalog.

Released ahead of their upcoming High Tide Summer Tour, “End of the World” arrives with an added twist: a guest appearance from longtime friends and tour mates The Movement. The collaboration feels less like a feature and more like a summit meeting between two of the genre’s most respected acts, each bringing their own signature energy to a song that balances urgency with optimism.

Lyrically, “End of the World” captures a feeling that has become increasingly familiar in recent years. The song wrestles with uncertainty and the overwhelming sense that everything is moving faster than anyone can control. Yet rather than sink into despair, Pepper turns the concept on its head. The track becomes a celebration of living in the moment, finding connection, and holding onto the people who matter when everything else feels unstable.

The addition of The Movement elevates the song even further. Their contribution adds a fresh dynamic while reinforcing the chemistry that has developed between the two bands over years of sharing stages and festival lineups. It’s the kind of collaboration that feels completely natural, highlighting the camaraderie that has long been one of the defining characteristics of the Cali reggae community.

The release also serves as the perfect launchpad for Pepper and The Movement’s upcoming summer co-headline run. Fans heading out to the High Tide Summer Tour won’t just be hearing two bands sharing a bill; they’ll be witnessing a creative partnership already producing new music together. In an era when collaborations are often designed for streaming algorithms, “End of the World” feels refreshingly genuine.

For Pepper, the single marks more than just a return. It signals the beginning of a new chapter. After nearly three years without an original release, the band sounds energized, focused, and ready for whatever comes next. If “End of the World” is any indication, the future looks bright — even when the song title suggests otherwise.

As summer approaches, Pepper has delivered exactly what fans have been waiting for: a new anthem, a new collaboration, and a reminder that sometimes the best way to face the end of the world is to turn up the volume and sing along.

Little Stranger: My Own Parade

Little Stranger are back with their new single “My Own Parade,” continuing the duo’s steady rise as one of the most unpredictable and genre-blurring acts operating in the alternative space right now.

Hailing from South Carolina by way of Philadelphia, Little Stranger have built a reputation around a sound that refuses to sit still. Pulling from indie, hip hop, alternative rock, funk, and electronic influences, the group thrives on sharp songwriting, offbeat charisma, and a DIY energy that feels equally suited for packed clubs and major festival stages.

“My Own Parade” arrives as another step forward in that evolution. While details surrounding the full track remain limited ahead of release, the title alone fits naturally within the duo’s self-aware and often rebellious creative identity. Their music has consistently balanced humor, introspection, and left-turn production choices, creating songs that feel both playful and emotionally grounded at the same time.

Pokey LaFarge: Rent Money

Iconoclastic troubadour Pokey LaFarge returns today with the tub-thumping new single, “Rent Money,” available everywhere now via his own Boxer Boy Records. An official music video – directed by Jacob Butler (LA LOM, Paul Cauthen) – premieres today on YouTube.

Despite its buoyant bounce and exuberant spirit, “Rent Money” sees LaFarge explore how hard work in hard times doesn’t always pay the bills, both in practical and spiritual terms. “Rent Money” marks the first single and title track from LaFarge’s eagerly awaited new album, Rent Money, arriving everywhere on Friday, September 11. Pre-orders/pre-saves are available now.

“‘Rent Money’ is a little bit more of a tougher tune,” says Pokey LaFarge, “but it’s not going to totally bum you out. It’s just a classic country blues song. The good lord giveth and Uncle Sam taketh away.”

Brenn!: AMATEUR AT BEST

Today, folk-pop singer-songwriter Brenn! releases his debut album, AMATEUR AT BEST, out now via Darkroom Records. Through this project, Brenn! offers listeners a messy, honest snapshot of the past couple of years defined by a jumbled mix of unbelievable highs and crushing lows. Having written and produced the whole project himself, Brenn! brings an added layer of intimacy to the project. His vocals ring out across each track over ragged blends of electronic guitars and banjo ripples, pulling back the curtain on vulnerability and growing pains.

Written between homes in Alabama and Tennessee, AMATEUR AT BEST came together with songwriter Maddox Shafer, the duo congregating in Keller’s home to create a 12 song project that serves an overarching theme. The album uses baseball imagery to reflect a year of major personal change for Brenn!, including moving away from home, going through his first breakup, and learning to live independently while continuing to develop his musicality. Throughout it all, the phrase “amateur at best” looped in his mind, ultimately becoming the perfect title for his debut album.

“AMATEUR AT BEST was such a hard thing to make. especially by myself. I’m glad it turned out this way because I couldn’t be more proud of a debut album,” Brenn! reflects.

All Them Witches: House of Mirrors

If new album House Of Mirrors proves anything, it’s that All Them Witches don’t need length to be effective. The constituent parts are predictable – psychedelia, blues, heavy rock and hypnotic groove – but the music isn’t, and is defined by unexpected twists, unlikely turns and bold choices.

Opener Red Rocking Chair – a reworking of a bluegrass standard made famous by Doc Watson – begins like Mark Langean at his most haunted, before pulling itself up to its full height via the doomiest of riffs, then retreats again, warped violin wrapping around gently pulsing guitar. Culling Line unfolds with a sense of enormous dread, drifting from an eerie vocal introduction that sounds like an import from 1920s Appalachia, to the kind of solo David Gilmour might dream up if he were impersonating Carlos Santana.

The racing Hold Up, Say What? is propelled by clattering ride cymbal from new drummer Christian Powers, and turns into full-on, Muse-style space-blast at the three-minute mark. The deftly plucked acoustic introduction to Starting Line throws another curve ball before the thunder arrives, while Turn On The Light chugs along like Morphine before clambering up through the gears like Queens Of The Stone Age.

House Of Mirrors is a thoroughly modern rock album, with roots deep in an older, more mysterious America. It’s also inviting and familiar without ever resorting to clichés or relying on traditional rock tropes. And it’s very, very good.

Don’t miss All Them Witches at HI-FI on October 24th. GET TICKETS.

Willow Avalon: Work To Do

Willow Avalon has released a new single, “Work To Do.” Says Avalon on the new track: “I wrote “Work To Do” about a man who never said sorry, and had a wholeeee lot of work to do on himself.” Last weekend, Avalon gave fans an advanced taste of the track during her CMA Fest performance at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium. The song is off the artist’s forthcoming album Pink Pocket Pistol, available June 26 via Atlantic Outpost/Assemble Sound.

Pink Pocket Pistol includes recent singles “Cardinal Sin” featuring Jason Isbell and “Hypothetically Speaking” featuring Kaitlin Butts. I’ve continuously written, with more darkness, mystery and a ‘60s country feel,” Avalon shares. “I went in with an idea in my head, and we walked out a week later with it fully executed. Every single person in the room was on the exact same page. It felt wonderful hearing the record out of speakers—after really, intensive, hard work—exactly what I heard in my head.”

Don’t miss Willow Avalon at HI-FI on October 24th. GET TICKETS.

Temples: Blue Flame

Temples take a break from the dance floor and shift into contemplative, ambient drama in their new song, “Blue Flame.” The track is another taste of their upcoming LP, ‘BLISS.’ With other recent releases boasting groove and power, slower, powerful tracks like this one show the band’s diversity.

With gothic touches from the buzzing synth and shredding guitar, the band embodies a darker energy. It has hints of ’90s indie electronic, with a psychedelic mix that really propels the song. Full of atmospheric twists, the instrumentals create the perfect stage to reveal a broken relationship. Motifs of fire and solitude catapult listeners into a scene of destruction – or rather, what’s left in the ashes. With muffled, echoed vocals, James Bagshaw cries out the sorrows of a situation that is out of his hands. The slower tempo allows listeners to soak up every beat, truly rejoicing in a soft, melancholic sound.

“Blue Flame” is packed full of potent and full of sorrowful yearning, crafting a new edge for the band. Temples prove through authenticity and experimentation that they can effortlessly tackle any sound.
