HI-FI ANNEX NOW OPEN FOR THE ENCORE OUTDOOR CONCERT SEASON

The Internet Rediscovered Andy Jassy’s HI-FI T-Shirt. Again.

Published on Jul 13th, 2026

Every once in a while, the internet rediscovers something and collectively decides it’s breaking news.

This week, it was a photo of Amazon CEO Andy Jassy wearing a HI-FI Indianapolis t-shirt during a conference. Reddit reacted. Some people thought it was awesome. Others somehow turned it into a debate about corporate America. A few even wondered if there was some connection between Amazon and HI-FI.

For the record, there isn’t.

This actually isn’t the first time this photo has made the rounds. A similar image surfaced a few years ago, and after looking into it, we learned that Jassy had attended a show at HI-FI while he was in Indianapolis for a conference. He picked up a shirt, and apparently it’s stayed in the rotation ever since.

Honestly, we think that’s pretty cool.

As an independent, locally owned music venue in Indianapolis, it’s fun to see our logo unexpectedly show up on a global stage. There’s no partnership, sponsorship, endorsement or secret business deal. Just someone who came to a show and still wears the shirt.

The funny part? Incredible things happen at HI-FI all the time, and most of them barely make a ripple outside Indianapolis.

What you missed:

  • Music legends Mike Campbell, Marty Stuart, and Wynonna Judd (and many more) have all graced our stages.
  • As a “see them here first venue” some of today’s biggest stars built their Indianapolis following by playing the HI-FI, including Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers, Noah Kahan, Colter Wall, Marcus King, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, and Ryan Bingham.
  • Mike Gordon from Phish stopped in to catch Daniel Donato’s show last week
  • Macaulay Culkin’s band, The Pizza Underground, played here several years ago.
  • Scenes from a popular Netflix series were filmed here.
  • Andrew Luck has been a familiar face at shows over the years, along with plenty of other athletes and public figures.
  • Finn Wolfhard, best known for Stranger Things, is playing HI-FI Annex with his band in just a few weeks.

Yet somehow, a CEO wearing one of our t-shirts is the thing that fans the flames.

We’ll take it.

If You Want the Shirt…

One thing we’ve noticed from the latest round of posts is that people keep asking where they can buy one.

The answer is simple: buy it directly from us.

Every official HI-FI t-shirt purchased through our store helps support an independent, locally owned venue that works every day to bring great live music to Indianapolis.

👉 Shop official HI-FI merchandise here

Better yet, grab tickets to an upcoming show at HI-FI, or check out a concert at HI-FI Annex (for its final outdoor season), and you can score your very own shirt in person.

Please make sure you’re purchasing from our official store. As with many recognizable brands (and with our tickets), we’ve seen unauthorized websites selling counterfeit HI-FI merchandise that infringes on our trademark. Buying directly from us ensures you’re getting the real thing while supporting the venue that created it.

Thanks to everyone who’s shared the photo, commented on the story, or simply laughed along with us. We certainly didn’t expect one of our t-shirts to become an internet conversation piece, but we’re grateful for the attention.

Now if we could just get the internet this excited about every great band that walks through our doors…
