Public Universal Friend (PUF) is an Indianapolis-based art rock band led by trans frontwoman Jody Galadriel Friend. Blending Appalachian folk, post-punk, and 90s indie rock, PUF has become a central figure in the city’s queer music scene. Their 2023 album Chrysalis offers a bold, southern gothic deconstruction of Americana, featuring tracks like “Jesus, Pt. 1,” which confronts religious exclusion with poignant defiance. Hannah Rose Collins, known as Scene Queen, is a rising star in the metalcore scene who coined the “bimbocore” style blending metalcore with feminist themes. Signed to Hopeless Records, she gained fame on TikTok, amassing over 618,000 followers. Her debut EP, Bimbocore, dropped in April 2022, followed by Bimbocore Vol. 2 in November.
