Spooky season is in full swing here at HI-FI. We’ve got a Black Sabbath parody band, a Halloween show, and a FREE eerie event thats sure to bring back the dead to party!
Based out of Los Angeles, CA but born from the bowels of Outer Space, Mac Sabbath is here, and it is time for a dinner rock revolution. Self-appointed founders of “Drive Thru Metal”, Mac Sabbath is a McDonald’s-themed parody cover band of famous English heavy metal band, Black Sabbath.
Mac Sabbath performs well-known covers of Black Sabbath’s songs with the lyrics humorously re-written and re-arranged. The band’s repertoire includes such parodies as “Pair-a-Buns” (“Paranoid”), “Frying Pan” (“Iron Man”), “Sweet Beef” (“Sweet Leaf”), among numerous others. The band takes a satirical and condemnatory perspective on the corporate food industry, addressing areas such as fast food’s negative health effects and lack of nutritional value, as well as genetically modified food, consumerism and low wage McJobs.
Their “Pop-Up-Drive-Thru Tour” launches on September 27th in San Francisco and runs through November 19th date in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Catch them at HI-FI on October 18th w/ Speedealer and Lung. Get tickets HERE.
