Metavari is a multidisciplinary, electronic music duo from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Members include graphic artist and composer, Nathaniel David Utesch and contemporary percussionist, Colin Boyd. Metavari’s dark, cinematic records make extensive use of nostalgic electronics and sampling; a collage of synth-laden melodies, menacing instrumentation and foley sounds.
The project has released nine titles worldwide through Light in the Attic Records, Mondo, and Deathwish, Inc., seen 7 members, and played nearly 400 shows in its twin existences (2008-2015, 2017-present). They’ve toured with and supported This Will Destroy You, Maserati, Tortoise, Digitalism, Anamanaguchi, Small Black, Adam Jones (S U R V I V E), Titus Andronicus, among others; and shared the festival stage with Thurston Moore, The Flaming Lips, Andrew W.K., FACS, Mexican Institute of Sound, and Kishi Bashi.
