Filled with a weight\, honesty and gritty-hope from rustbelt city life\, McKinley rolled downriver to Memphis to Sun Studio where Grammy Award-winning producer Matt Ross-Spang (Jason Isbell\, Margo Price\, John Prine) gathered a working man’s all-star band to record his Oh Boy Records debut\, “Die Midwestern.” \nMcKinley’s 10 original songs bleed truth and emotion from a heart scarred by wild nights and redeemed by Sunday morning confessions. “She’s Always Around\,” “Suicidal Saturday Night\,” “Bag of Pills” and “Ghost” – a song he wrote in a funeral home parking lot after carrying the coffin of his best friend – are all songs carved out in the key of life. \nIn “Ghost” McKinley pours out the pain of his personal loss. “It felt too real to be a dream/We were getting high on gasoline/sitting on the banks where the river bends/and we laughed and danced and sang and we talked about everything/Sitting here with the ghost of my best friend.” \nOn “Bag of Pills\,” McKinley testifies from the shadows of the night … “All I need now\, I don’t want/All I loved now\, it’s all gone to my head/Tell Jesus\, Can you save me?/Didn’t think so – guess you’re too busy/I guess we’re all too busy.” In the hope filled “Once Again\,” McKinley leaves an open door to find hope and love again. “My heart is rusting/I’ve been broken/I’ve been busted/but if you tell me I can trust it/Maybe this heart can love once again.” \nShaped in equal parts by the raw honesty of his raising in the church and punk teenage years\, McKinley said that thread still runs so true in the open honesty of his songwriting. \n“I am telling my truth and that is it and hopefully it relates to people\,” McKinley says of the songs on “Die Midwestern. “I know some musicians write story songs about other things\, but I can’t be that musician. I have to write about my experience. ‘Ghost (Of My Best Friend’)\, I was at Patrick’s funeral and we all left. I sang at the funeral and I am sitting in the car and was crying and wrote ‘Ghost.’ That was the moment and I was in it.” \nLike a musical brethren of Lucero\, McKinley has been making a name for himself around the country in that unassuming\, blue-collar way – humbly stacking piles of soulful songs that hurt so real and so good. Along the way\, he has shared stages with kindred musical spirits John Moreland\, Jason Isbell\, Justin Townes Earle\, and contemporary rising singer/songwriters Tyler Childers\, Ian Noe and Colter Wall. \nMcKinley says he hopes when people spin “Die Midwestern” that it churns up emotions even if the songs mean something different to other people. \n“I hope they walk away knowing they saw someone who is telling their raw\, honest story\,” McKinley says. “I gave them that emotion and I don’t want anybody to be neutral about it. I’d rather you walk out and say you hate it. It is a wild thing to play your songs\, it is like time freezes for a moment and everybody listens. Hopefully\, they walk out from a show knowing they are not the only ones feeling the way they are feeling.” \nAbout Ritch Henderson\nListen | Watch Video \nA Northern Alabama Native\, Ritch Henderson  has an eclectic style that is uniquely Southern. His early major influences are  Led Zeppelin\, Jim Croce\, Janis Joplin\, The Steve Miller Band\, The Eagles & Lynyrd Skynyrd. \nIn 2002 Ritch’s mom gave him the records “Heartbreaker”\, by Ryan Adams and “Yourself Or Someone Like You”\, by Matchbox Twenty as Christmas gifts\,  and a lifelong love affair with lyrical intention began. \nWhen Ritch was Sixteen years of age\, his sister Introduced him to the music and composition of local Rock and Roll band: The Drive-By Truckers\, and a songwriter was born. \nHis later influences are The Turnpike Troubadours\, Chris Knight\, and most recently John Fullbright\, and John R. Miller \n  \nAbout Eric Bolander: \nListen | Watch Video \nEric Bolander’s flavor of Americana/folk music offers soulful vocal tone with thoughtful melodies that have staying power.  Lyrically driven by life experiences\, Eric’s songs will give you a glimpse into his life and a realization that happiness can be perpetuated through pain.\nEric grew up in the small eastern KY town of Garrison in the Ohio River Valley along the foothills of Appalachia (pop. 1400).  He learned through his Dad to work for what you want/need and never take someone for granted.  Love and work ethic were driving forces of his humble upbringing.  Eric now lives and works out of Lexington\, KY.  He’s called Lexington home for most of his adult life.  An Art Teacher by day and Musician by night\, Eric’s mind is always immersed in the arts.  Passion for the arts is what keeps him moving forward.

I think it’s important to let yourself show your heart like that.” \nIn the making of Magnetic Moves\, Toupin let her intuition guide her to everything from the harmony-heavy gospel of “Lost Sometimes” to the Beatles-esque psych-pop of “In Your Dreams” (with both tracks featuring the showstopping vocals of Austin-based soul singers Lauren Marie and Angela Miller). As Toupin explains\, the album’s imaginative sonic palette has much to do with the unprecedented freedom she felt her entire time in the studio. “Making this record with people I didn’t already know was an incredibly liberating factor\,” she points out. “When people have preconceived notions of who you are and what you do\, it can really hold you back. But with this album I was able step way outside my comfort zone—I felt confident to do things I would’ve normally been afraid of.” \nFor Toupin\, eliminating those expectations ultimately elevated her to a new and far more fulfilling level of self-expression—an element she hopes might leave an indelible impact on the listener. “I’m such a romantic\, and I’d never felt like I could really own that the way I did on this record\,” she says. “In the past there was an agreement as to what you could say in a song and what you couldn’t say\, what was cool and what wasn’t cool. When people hear this album\, I hope they come away with a really strong feeling of love\, whether it’s romantic or some other form. I want everyone to feel okay just wearing their heart on their sleeve.” \nAbout The Minks:\nListen | Watch Video  \nThe Minks are Nashville’s “psychedelic-bloos” band\, heavy on the rock and roll. We’re talking low-down\, all the way\, purse-lipped\, eyes-shut\, head-whirling kind of rock and roll. The band’s palpable sound has roots in every music fan’s top ten—from Lou to Patti to Creedence to Hank. Mixed with raw\, jangly instrumentation and soulful saccharine vocals\, it’s as much a throwback as it is an answer to the often overlooked underbelly of Nashville’s rock and roll scene. \nFront woman Nikki Barber hightailed it to Music City a few years back in hopes of pursuing her musical birthright. With just a guitar and a dream\, she created The Minks because she had to. It was this “create or combust” determination\, and a little help from her friends\, that made her vision a reality. With a few hundred miles\, a couple of EPs\, some new faces\, and a slew of local buzz under their belts\, the band sets out to release their first full-length record (Light and Sweet) this Fall through Cafe Rooster Records and tour for forever.

Wayne home.  For over 8 years JATD has written\, produced and recorded numerous full length records and EP’s.  Their latest full length record was released under Neat Neat Neat Records on February 1st 2019. \nWelcome.  Come be a part of what we’re doing. \nAbout The Brothers Footman\nListen | Watch Video \nMusic lovers who are eager to treat their ears to something fresh and unique would do well to check out a local band by the name of The Brothers Footman. The group’s sound is inspired by a variety of genres including country\, Motown\, gospel and R&B. Listeners will enjoy their smooth vocals as the brothers harmonize over energetic rifts.\nBrothers Dikembe\, Gerald (G)\, Micah (Sauce)\, and Joshua (Bubby) Footman make up the band The Brothers Footman. Though the group is a new endeavor\, the band has been surrounded by music all of their lives as their families have all been musical influences. \n“We grew up around music and kind of just picked it up ourselves. Our father’s side of the family can play and sing\, and our mother is very musically talented and trained many vocal groups. One Christmas\, we got instruments instead of presents\, and since then we have been like\, yeah\, this is what we do\,” said Bubby. \n“Back then none of us could play anything\,” added Dikembe. “We were just banging\, so we sounded like a really bad heavy metal rock group. It was all in rhythm\, so it still sounded kind of cool.” \nThe group’s musical talents have grown since childhood\, and they have honed their skills in separate projects. Gerald started to play the piano and the drums\, and Micah has done many productions for a wide range of varying artist. Today\, the brothers are determined to break down musical barriers with a distinctive sound they like to call “Summa Music.” \n“We don’t believe in drawing lines in music. Music is; it’s just that simple. We let the songs do what they do. The idea might start with one of us and then someone puts some keys down. It takes on its own form\, and we let it rock that way. So it’s summa music. Some of this\, some of that\,” said Bubby \n“Music can do amazing things. It can bring people together\, it can get you through your hard times. I have seen this music cross boundaries and bring 70 year olds on the same dance floor as 24 year olds!!” says Gerald\, about how music can bring anyone together. \nThough The Brothers Footman have recorded multiple songs\, they have only released an EP to the public as of yet. Their debut single “Country Sky” has been played on radio stations both locally and internationally. \n“Yesterday we heard it was playing in the UK\, and the radio DJ actually shouted out our individual names. It was pretty cool\,” said Gerald. \nThe brothers say their success is due to the fact that they are unapologetically themselves. They hope a sense of authenticity reflects in their music. \n“You got to bring it for a reason. A lot of people try to copy what they hear on the radio. We just try to bring out what’s inside our head\, be ourselves\, and never stop\,” said Bubby. \nAbout Sidewalk Souls\nListen | Watch Video \n“Just one more punch\, they want to line you up…and the sidewalk souls simply spill into the streets…” Stonewall by Chad Bracken\, Singer / Songwriter.\n\nSidewalk Souls is an Indianapolis-based rock band featuring six veteran musicians and songwriters with varied musical tastes.  Although distinctly alternative rock at its root\, Sidewalk Souls’ music is heavily laden with soul\, reggae\, and a touch of Americana\, reflecting the diverse musical palettes of its members.\n\nThe band’s name was taken from a lyric by founding member and singer\, Chad Bracken\, and represents the fellowship shared between its members\, and the principles of solidarity and standing by those who may not have a voice.\n\nSidewalk Souls digitally released its first full-length album\, The Worried Well\, in 2017\, and will release an EP – No Mean City – in fall 2020.

They honed their skills and craft in the honest old-school tradition of doing the hard work with and for some of the most significant performers of the old/new music business. \nTheir hard work has been paying off. With hundreds live performances in the last several years\, and their log-awaited third Album  “Road May Flood” hot off the presses\, these road seasoned troubadours are swiftly traveling beyond their deep Bluegrass/New-grass/Americana roots\, both musically and geographically\, and into fresh territory where they have been defined as both “Authentic af” yet artistically “innovative and delightfully original”. \nWith masterful musicianship and endlessly appealing vocals\, these genuinely adept co-writers never cease to deliver a deep well of originally introspective and heartfelt songs\, of both comedy and tragedy\, that consistently brings music lovers of all ages and sensitivities to their growing audiences. \nAnyone who is paying attention knows these old-soul-porch-pickers are on the road to legendary success\, and a growing legion of fans are coming along for the ride! \nAbout Chance McCoy:\nListen | Watch Video  \nChance McCoy is a Grammy Award winning Indie Folk musician from West Virginia. \n“It can be scary to step away from something that’s been so successful\,” says Chance McCoy\, “but it’s important to follow your passion. I really believe in the music that I’m making right now\, so it feels like the right time for me as an artist to get off the main road and explore the path less trodden.” \nA virtuoso fiddler\, guitarist\, and banjo player\, McCoy is best known as a member of GRAMMY-winning Americana powerhouse Old Crow Medicine Show\, but ‘Wander Wide\,’ his debut solo album\, reveals a remarkable depth and versatility far beyond anything we’ve heard from him yet. Captivating in its cross of the traditional and the progressive\, the record shows little regard for the conventional boundaries of genre and decade\, blending old-school bluegrass melodies with modern rock and roll arrangements and rich\, atmospheric production. McCoy based the album off of a live residency show he put on weekly at The Basement in Nashville\, and the studio recordings here tap into the same exuberant energy he brought to the stage every night\, complete with dazzling performances that unexpectedly twist and turn\, sometimes transitioning from one tune to the next within the same track. \nMcCoy grabbed himself a fiddle and headed straight to the source\, apprenticing under a series of master Appalachian players through a program funded by the National Endowment for the Arts. As his chops developed\, he quit his construction job in order to pursue music full time\, devoting his weekdays to busking on the streets of Harper’s Ferry and his weekends to performing in a loose-knit group called The Speakeasy Boys. \nMcCoy continued adding additional instruments to his arsenal\, and in one weekend alone\, he took home top honors for fiddle\, banjo\, and dulcimer at the prestigious West Virginia State Championships. He recorded an album of traditional music with a new group\, Chance McCoy and the Appalachian String Band\, and began touring the country. Whatever dreams he carried in his head didn’t match up with reality\, though\, and McCoy watched helplessly as his life began to slowly unravel around him on the road. \n“Every tour\, I’d come home with less money than I started\,” he reflects. “I was struggling to survive. My marriage ended in divorce. Everything was going downhill.” \nAt his lowest\, McCoy found himself teaching fiddle lessons and living on food stamps to get by as he raised his young son in a cabin so dilapidated it lacked even proper heat for the winter. Then he got an email that would change his life forever. \n“I got this note from Ketch Secor from Old Crow Medicine Show\,” he remembers. “I’d never met those guys—my only experience was getting totally destroyed by them at a festival when they played on the mainstage while I performed in a little dance tent—but he said a member had left the group and he wanted to know if I would be interested in coming to Nashville to audition for the band.” \nThree years later\, McCoy was standing onstage holding a Best Folk Album GRAMMY Award for ‘Remedy\,’ the first collection he wrote and recorded with the platinum-selling group. He’d go on to record two more albums and perform countless dates with Old Crow\, but all the while\, he continued writing his own solo material that didn’t quite fit with the band’s catalog. When a potential break in their relentless schedule appeared on the horizon\, McCoy jumped at the chance to focus once again on his own art\, which had been patiently waiting on the backburner while Old Crow slayed stages from Bonnaroo to Red Rocks and shared bills with Willie Nelson\, Mumford & Sons\, John Prine\, The Avett Brothers\, and countless others peers and luminaries. \n“Playing in a band is a very collaborative experience and I love it\, but there’s something really rewarding about being able to express yourself as an individual and bring your own vision to life\,” says McCoy. “I built a studio in my basement so I could explore all these musical ideas I had\, and it really felt like time to share them.” \nAbout Will Scott:\nListen | Watch Video  \nWill Scott is known for his distinctive voice\, original roots songwriting\, and unique finger-style and slide guitar style. Blending blues and Americana with a dash of rock and outlaw country\, his soulful\, live performances\, and acclaimed recordings\, have captivated crowds in the US and Europe for over twenty years. \nRaised in Indianapolis\, IN\, and Chicago\, IL\, Scott grew up in a musical family tradition\, surrounded by a mix of blues\, bluegrass\, traditional country\, jazz\, and rock & roll. His first recording project\, “Too Damn Cold\,” with Chicago-style blues outfit\, The Forecasters\, garnered critical acclaim. (“Will Scott has a good vibrato and a knack for surprises” –Blues Revue). Based in Bloomington\, IN\, The Forecasters (Will Scott\, Jim Richter\, J.J. Perry\, Andrew Funke\, and sometimes Tom Harold) performed regularly at the Slippery Noodle Inn\, Bear’s Place\, the Bluebird\, and other notable area venues. Will also spent some time co-hosting Piney Woods’ “Blues House Party\,” and hosting an after-hours blues on WFHB community radio. \nScott’s first solo record\, “Solo Electric Blues\,” was started as a home-cooked recording project in Bloomington’s “box car alley\,” and completed in a cabin near Los Angeles\, CA. The recordings caught the attention of Ben Vaughn (That 70’s Show\, Third Rock) and other notables in the California music industry. That album helped launch Scott into New York’s music scene when he moved there in 2002. \nScott’s 2009 solo release\, “Gnawbone\,” named after a town in southern Indiana\, was produced by gold record recipient\, Preacher Boy (Blind Pig Records\, Eagle Eye Cherry). Featuring guest performances by Jolie Holland\, Samantha Parton (The Be Good Tanyas)\, and Jan Bell\, “Gnawbone” was one of five album finalists in its category at the Independent Music Awards and received exceptional reviews in the US and abroad. \nIn 2011\, Scott released “Keystone Crossing\, supported by a tour that included a return performance at the renowned Glastonbury Festival as well as Maverick Festival and Birmingham Jazz & Blues Festival. The album garnered nominations for Independent Music Awards\, and best Rock Song in the International Songwriting Competition\, and excellent press both side of the pond. Q Magazine’s review called him “America’s most soulful country blues artist.” Classic Rock Magazine placed “Keystone Crossing” in their top 10 blues albums of the year. \nWill is presently touring full-time with home bases in Southern Indiana\, and Brooklyn\, New York.

The Muhlenberg County\, Kentucky-based group’s latest album\, its fifth overall\, Weight Of A Trigger\, out March 29th\, is a potent distillation of its outlaw heartache soul. \nThe dark impulses Ben sings about are simply the demons that have driven him since he was a teen. At 16\, Ben left home to play music on the streets. Since then\, he’s lived under bridges\, slept in jail cells\, sought freedom hopping freight trains\, battled addiction\, and watched many good friends die from the same rambling disease. Some states\, he remains a wanted man with active warrants. Though Ben has been aimless\, and destructive\, he’s always been prolific through exorcising his demons in song. Even if that meant writing songs at 7:00 AM in dank and dark basements strung out on drugs and drunk. \nHis companion in life and music\, Ashley Mae\, is an accomplished fiddle player and harmony singer. The pair met in the Nashville punk scene when Ben was 15\, and Ashley was 17. They share in a tumultuous love affair that’s defied adventures\, and misadventures. The couple formed Lost Dog Street Band in the winter of 2010. The duo’s vision was to carry on the tradition of the American troubadour with fine Americana songcraft and starkly real storytelling. Today\, Ben and Ashley Mae are joined by bassist Jeff Loops of the beloved roots band\, Deep Chatham. \nThe three-piece group’s latest\, Weight Of A Trigger\, is a portal into when Americana was peopled by sensitive outlaws who pleaded for salvation in song. The 10-song collection spans old-time music\, Appalachian folk\, redemptive country blues\, and winsome balladry. Each song is elegantly essential\, using teardrop pedal steel guitar\, delicate fingerpicked passages\, emotive harmony vocals\, and stately violin touches as delicate dynamic touches. It’s an album of hard truths themed around a three-part narrative of Thomas Clancy Russell\, and stories of fated love\, addiction\, tragic deaths\, and rising demons. The poetic former collaborator Nicholas Ridout\, a uniquely gifted musician who left before his time is always honored on their albums. His presence is made all the more poignant by Lost Street Dog performing his sweetly high lonesome song “Lazy Moonshiner.” \nAbout Matt Heckler: \nListen | Watch Video  \nMatt Heckler is the fiddle player you want to believe still exists. Veering from Appalachia to Romania\, Ireland to the Catskills\, his music is definitively unsafe and entirely his own. \nThe Catskills\, where he grew up and the Carolina Appalachians he calls home are old mountains\, but the kids there are more likely to be raised on punk than old time string bands. Heckler took both with him when he left and sharpened a distinctive sound on banjo and fiddle the scientific way\, as a street performer who could measure the days artistic growth in single dollar bills. Attracting the attention of musicians\, as well as passers-by\, he spent half a decade touring and releasing three albums with the band Deep Chatham. Since then his room silencing solo act has become an exciting yet poorly kept secret in DIY music scenes around the country. After The Flood will be his first full-length release showcasing a songwriting ability that audiences\, distracted by his casually virtuosic musicianship\, might have previously overlooked. Don’t wait for his next reinvention\, find Matt Heckler now and remember what music should be. \nAbout Austin Stirling: \nListen | Watch Video  \n  \nIf you’re Mr. Stirling\, the redoubtable frontman of the once Hangdog Hearts\, you’ve earned the respects of your peers\, while converting audiences worldwide. Stirling took all that traveling experience into the studio\, consolidated it with some southern-fried focus\, and created his debut solo album\, Slave. A driven accumulation of fire and brimstone\, floated with whiskey and gasoline. He doesn’t stick to formalized roots or folk: that’s a blueprint too many of his contemporaries have used to build a shrine to a stereotypical religion. Instead\, he mixes up a serious mesh of influences from Blues\, Country\, the sweaty vibes of Rockabilly\, and Saturday evening mischief before Sunday morning reflection. His music stretches through dozens of styles\, but always comes out sounding like his own badass reflection . He holds tightly the reins of the music until it’s time to break free like wild bulls\, allowing his recordings the opportunity to discover the brilliant energy that is his live show.

Any musician can learn a song note for note. However\, to do a full tribute with all of the subtle nuances and authentic look and sound and mannerisms is comparable to an actor preparing for a character in a film. In this case\, the characters are members of the Legendary British Supergroup.   No Quarter captures the characters of John Bonham\, John Paul Jones\, Jimmy Page\, and Robert Plant and brings each individual member to the stage in their absolute Prime.  Die Hard Zeppelin Fans and Rockstars they’ve shared the stage with have sworn they were watching the real group live.  Hence the word being spread that No Quarter is “The Real Deal” when it comes to Led Zeppelin tributes. \nEven Led Zeppelin’s bassist John Paul Jones said after meeting Chad McMurray (Jones for No Quarter)\, and signing a concert photo over his character commented\,  “That’s scary”\, looking at the likeness of each character. “As long as you’re doing it\, means we don’t have to.” \nNo Quarter has been privileged to share the stage with Legendary Artists such as Peter Frampton\, Foreigner\, Molly Hatchet\, Kansas\, Steppenwolf\, Nazareth\, Tesla\, Warrant\, Jefferson Starship\, Eric Burden and the Animals\, Eddie Money and many others. \nNo Quarter is bringing back the magic of a True Led Zeppelin Concert to fans all over the world and the response has been overwhelming.  If you’ve never seen the real Led Zeppelin in concert\, or if you have and want to relive the magic\,  No Quarter is as close as it gets to capturing the iconic British rock group live. Their growing ocean of fans will agree. \nWatch the No Quarter Livestream available on Mandolin.  Tickets are on sale now.

His aggressive and percussive guitar playing is accompanied by painful\, beautiful and heartfelt lyrics that tell the story of his life.  Levi is a bluesman at heart but has created his own eclectic blend of blues\, folk & Americana that will leave you in a whirlwind of emotions after seeing him live. \nAbout Keller & Cole: \nListen | Watch Video  \nIndianapolis-based indie folk duo Keller&Cole have been crafting sincere\, powerfully emotive songs together since 2014. With a reputation for electrifying and intimate performances\, Landon Keller and Kara Cole are preparing their most ambitious musical move to date with the 2020 release of their stunning new EP\, LOVE DRUNK ALCHEMY. The title track of the EP is released on January 21\, 2020. \nKeller&Cole have shared stages with the likes of Lera Lynn\, Lily & Madeleine\, Josh Kaufman and others in addition to performing over 350 headlining shows across the midwestern US. With the release of LOVE DRUNK ALCHEMY\, the duo are certainly poised to find their widest audience yet. \nAbout Eric Pedigo: \nListen | Watch Video  \nI aspire to inspire. To connect. To share. To spark joy. To give a piece of momentary happiness. My song is my island. I want others to feel engaged the way I do l when I listen to songs I love. Alive. \nI started taking guitar lessons at 8. Hated every minute of it other than the times I learned songs that I heard on the radio. I remember my first experiences singing in church with my grandparents. It was a conservative congregation that only allowed acapella hymns. The sound of vocal harmony was absolutely chilling. I took a stab at writing when I was 12-13. I participated in talent shows\, choir performances\, musicals and plays. I started writing with a group in 2006. We wrote and recorded 2 albums. My experiences during that time really helped add fuel the fire I had for music. I continued writing throughout college. I eventually found myself in a folk pop trio in 2011. This experience inspired me to continue writing and it became clear that I found refuge in it. This was around the time the song Parachute came about. I moved to Indianapolis shortly college after to pursue other career endeavors and to focus on my music. I spent a lot of time writing about my experiences with adjusting to new phases in life and the pursuit of wholeness. In February 2013 I released my first solo EP called Parachute. I’ve spent the last 4 years developing and working on my songwriting. I spent some time teaming up with other artists and experimenting with co-writing and recording. In July 2017\, I released a new album called Sun & Shade. Its my story about searching for love and sometimes in all the wrong places. Its about breaking unhealthy cycles. Choosing Optimism over Pessimism.

His music and live performances are stepsiblings to the DIY punk community that occupies many of the same dingy Indiana basements and clubs. The threads of that fierce DIY ethic weave their way throughout the brief run time of major threat.\, which is itself a vestige of that same ethic. \nAbout Former Vandal: \nListen | Watch Video  \nFormer Vandal is an American alt-pop duo consisting of members Quinn Wentz and Christian Delzoppo. Musically\, they blend aspects of several genres to create a mood in every piece\, with chilling lyrics that encapsulate youth culture with romanticizations\, nostalgia\, and an heir of luxury. This starkly emotional content has branded them in a positive way\, as they’re not afraid to confess and discuss emotions\, no matter the comfort level\, that others tend to shy away from. This blunt type of proclamation works its way into the hearts of listeners both new and old. \nAbout Heyzeus: \nListen | Watch Video  \nBio coming soon \nAbout Silent Bloom: \nListen | Watch Video  \nJazz/R&B influenced Indie from Indianapolis\, IN. SUMMARY:Reckless Kelly (Postponed)
DESCRIPTION:Reckless Kelly’s Indianapolis show at HI-FI has been postponed. We are currently working on a reschedule date.  Hang tight for more information. Please direct any questions to boxoffice@mokbpresents.com. You can follow our ongoing list of affected shows here: http://bit.ly/mokb-hifi-covid19updates \n————————— \nRECKLESS KELLY W/ SPECIAL GUESTS @ HI-FI INDIANAPOLIS \nDOORS: 7:00 PM\, SHOW: 8:00 PM \nAGE RESTRICTIONS: 21+ \nGENERAL ADMISSION\, LIMITED SEATING \nImportant Notice: All tickets are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Support acts are subject to change \n—————————- \nAbout Reckless Kelly: \nListen | Watch Video \nUnderstanding the virtuosity of Reckless Kelly requires the perspective of where the band has been. Cody and Willy Braun grew up in the White Cloud Mountains of Idaho. They moved to Bend\, Oregon\, and then migrated to that great musical fountainhead\, Austin\, Texas. \nThe band’s co-founders and frontmen toured the country as part of their father’s band\, Muzzie Braun and the Boys\, as children. They performed on The Tonight Show twice. Their father taught his four sons a professional ethic – integrity\, persistence\, hard work and professionalism – honed over three generations. They overcame hardships\, struggled for recognition\, and learned the lessons of the trial and error that defined them. \nIn one sense\, it’s remarkable in the way of any musician\, athlete\, or businessperson who bucks the odds. In another\, though\, it’s utterly natural that Reckless Kelly\, born in the dreams of the two Braun brothers and their heritage but nurtured in the bumpy road of maturity\, became the very essence of Americana music in all its far-flung glory. \n“We came along in that second wave of the movement\,” Cody Braun says. “Son Volt’s album Trace had a major effect on us. People like Joe Ely\, Ray Kennedy and Robert Earl Keen were always big supporters. Our goal was to make music that had a country vibe but a solid rock edge.” \nIn the end\, all the recipe required was to just add water. Water facilitates life. It enriches the soul. As Music Row magazine proclaimed\, “In my perfect world\, this is what country radio would sound like.” \n“This” is Reckless Kelly. \nThe heartland gave the band authenticity. Musical lives honed its skill. Adversity instilled its persistence. Moving to Austin gave it wings to fly. \nAs kids\, the Brauns – Cody\, Willy\, Micky and Gary – shared a stage with the likes of Johnny Cash\, Glen Campbell and Merle Haggard. Micky and Gary Braun now helm their own band\, Micky and the Motorcars. In Bend\, Cody and Willy added drummer Jay Nazz\, who brought with him his own unique experience. \n“I had grown up in the Northeast\, performing at clubs and weddings with my dad and brother from the age of 13\,” Nazz recalls\, “so\, when I met Willy and Cody\, we already had that in common. Both of our dads were musicians with a very similar kind of performing discipline. That helped us bond immediately.” \nThe band took its name from the legend of Ned Kelly\, the Australian highwayman\, and the three moved to Austin in the autumn of 1996\, where they carved a niche of their own. Early on\, Keen\, a Texas legend himself\, took them under his wing and became their first manager. They listened\, watched and interacted with the creative dynamos of the outlaw country scene – Townes Van Zandt\, Steve Earle\, Billy Joe Shaver\, Guy Clark and others – and joined them in a redefinition of what contemporary country music had become. Theirs was gritty\, hard-edged\, uncompromising and convincing. They turned country music real again. \nIndependent? Oh\, yeah. Doggedly so. Nothing demonstrates it more than the band’s path through a succession of prestigious record labels – Sugar Hill and Yep Roc\, among them – en route to a label\, No Big Deal\, of their own. \nFor two decades\, the band has toured coast to coast relentlessly. It has demonstrated its longevity in a world where trendy newcomers are proclaimed the Next Big Thing by spinning a couple pop hits. They disappear from the radar\, doomed by the very fad that invented them. Not unlike the pioneers who preceded them on the western frontier where the Brauns were raised\, they have forged their survival without compromise\, combining hard work with a resolve that success is only satisfying when achieved by their own standards and definition.

SUMMARY:The Why Store: Life on Planet Six Ball 20th Anniversary
DESCRIPTION:About The Why Store \nThe Why Store was formed in the late 1980s in Muncie\, Indiana. In 1993\, the band independently recorded Welcome to the Why Store. One year later the band recorded Inside the Why Store. Both albums were locally successful\, and The Why Store began getting attention from record labels. In 1995\, The Why Store signed to MCA’s subsidiary Way Cool Music for their first major-label effort\, a self-titled LP\, which was released in 1996. \nTheir major label debut on MCA Records spawned several hits. The first single\, “Lack Of Water”\, was a #1 hit on Triple-A Radio; the band performed “Surround Me” on Late Night with Conan O’ Brien and saw their video for “Father” receive rotation on MTV2 and VH1. The Why Store was a Top 20 album for 1996 and went on to sell 200\,000 copies. \nThe Why Store split up in 2000 citing creative differences\, though each member has continued onto different projects\, most notably Shaffer who has recorded several solo disks as well as recording with his first post-Why Store band\, Shaffer Street. \nIn 2007\, Shaffer reincarnated The Why Store with an exciting new album called VIM. Produced by Rusty Anderson\, Paul McCartney’s long time guitarist\, VIM showcases Chris’s passionate songwriting and refreshingly edgy vocal ability. “It was a magical experience\, definitely the best thing I’ve ever done\,” says Shaffer. \nIn 2016\, The Why Store released a Live album Live at the Slippery Noodle featuring “Everybody” and SIX previously unreleased tracks available at shows\, their website\, CD Baby or iTunes. \nOnce again … The Why Store is officially\, open for business…
