An Evening With Back2Mac
Back 2 Mac first played together in 2010 in Louisville KY for what was to be a one-night performance of Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours albums. The band is comprised of longtime music friends who have grown up playing in Louisville – singer Danny Flanigan fronted the 80’s new wave band Hopscotch Army before forming Rain Chorus with Back 2 Mac’s bassist Tim Halcomb, who also plays with Greg Foresman and Foresman’s recently-reunited band The Hammerheads. Singer Kimmet Cantwell and drummer Ray Rizzo first played together in the Southern Indiana rock band Days Of The New, and Rizzo is now based in Brooklyn and drums for Josh Ritter and has played on records by Bob Weir, Yo Yo Ma and Glen Hansard. Singer/guitarist Todd Johnson led the Louisville band Domani before moving to Los Angeles in the 90’s and working as an in-demand session musician. Back 2 Mac’s lineup is completed by singer/keyboardist Natalie Bajandas, once of the band Union Tree, and keyboardist Bob Ramsey whose resume includes a longtime stint with Leon Russell.
While Back 2 Mac play heavily into the Buckingham/Nicks era of Fleetwood Mac, the band also properly explore the early periods of the band when Peter Green and Bob Welch made significant contributions to the song cannon.
